My experience from researching the different tour operators (I traveled solo to Ethiopia in August and visited the Rock Hewn churches in the North-West of country) is that most will have pretty similar prices and will be offering standard accommodation in the different places you visit (somewhere like Axum has less than a handful of hotels to choose from to start with).
I traveled with Ethiopian Inspiration and can echo Clare's sentiment that Million was a great operator. He was incredibly responsive when organizing my trip, was very competitive with price and most importantly was very attentive during my trip. In particular I visited when there were some protests taking place in Ethiopia which meant I needed to change my itinerary - Million was simply incredible - he organized an alternative route, changed my flights and was very communicative through-out.

We have arrived safely back in the U.K. today.
We had a wonderful trip to South Ethiopia and were well looked after by Engidaw and Haile. We are very grateful to them for all that they did for us. We will certainly recommend your company to any friends who visit Ethiopia inn the future,
with best wishes,

The trip was absolutely phenomenal. Everything went very smoothly and Mads and I had a wonderful time!
Especially, the guide in Lalibela was very good and so was the car / driver to Langano. We loved that car :)
If you'd like me to write a review of Inspiration Tours somewhere, just let me know. I would recommend it to anyone!!!

Hi Milli. Hope you are OK and you had some rest after our journey through Ethiopia. Thank you for all this fantastic things you showed me, for your time and patience. I came back to work, our weather is not so bad for this time of the year, but one cannot compare it to yours.

Hey Milla !!!!!!!!!
I can’t tell you how much I’ve been talking and talking and talking about Omo and my friend and guide, you! it seems like a different lifetime that Fuad and I traveled to Omo with you and Ingidu, but I must tell you in the middle of the night when I awake I often think of the Mursi, the hammer, the karo……. I understand why your Canadian friends are always coming back.

Just came back from a mind boggling 9 day trip to South Omo. Basically you are entering the late Bronze Age. We visited the Hammar, Bena, Mursi, Arbore, Dassenech and Kangaton tribes.
It’s not an easy trip but we lucked out by getting amazing hands on tour guide who seemed to personally know the tribal leaders and had amazing contacts throughout the region.
Even when we had to change plans on a dime, he arranged, in the middle of nowhere, an alternative 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser and Driver. This is a MUST trip for any true traveler looking for traveling on the off off beaten track. And if you go I highly highly highly recommend my guide. His name is Milli from Inspiration Tour Operator.

On the tour, my guide Milli came across as a little shy at first but he turned out to be an excellent guide and his manner was so warm.
He was so knowledgeable on all of the tribes in the Omo Valley, managed to bargain well for photos but was a very fair person. He was warm and kind to the children in the tribes we saw.

Traveling to the South was like stepping into the pages of National Geographic. We had an excellent guide named Mila.
We flew from the capital to Arba Minch, the largest city in the South and from there we explored some amazing places and visited six different tribes near the Kenyan and Sudanese boarders. They are authentic.
The tribes’ people we saw -- visited with, played pat-a-cake with, danced with -- they really dress. It wasn't a tourist thing. There is too much to say about each tribe, but we will try to hit on the highlights. A brief summary of most of the tribes we saw...

Had a great trip.
